Cayo Levantado
The small Cayo Levantado Island is one of the famous places of the country.
It is located in the Samaná Bay, very near to the coast. Its wonders were the setting of famous publicity spots for the Bacardi rum. (This is why its nickname is Bacardi Island).
Its transparent water offers all the range of blue and its white sand is dazzling, offering an image like a postcard.
This splendid small island is visited every day by hundreds of tourists and recently saw the opening of a hotel.
We can walk around the whole island in only 15 minutes.
Several typical restaurants will offer the possibility to taste lobsters, roasted fish, and other dishes of the area.
